Later the residual company was merged into Mysore Armed Reserve Police which later came to be known as the Mysore State Reserve Police and finally when the State was renamed Karnataka, the merged company was part of Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP).

The cavalry men and lancers of Mysore Imperial Service belonged to villages and towns around Mysore, Bangalore, Kolar, Kadur, Tumkur and Hassan.
